\"TPL\u00a0 \u00a0TPL Moms<\/a><\/p>\n

Ah! Fall\u2014you love it or you hate it. Personally, I\u2019m in the first group because I don\u2019t like to be hot. So when that time of year rolls around and I can bring out all my cute coats, play in the leaves and eat pumpkin all day long, I\u2019m happy.<\/p>\n

I know that not everyone likes fall, however, and that some people are affected by the drops in temperature and light. So I thought I\u2019d share my #TeamFall tips for having a great time with your family! Bring on the pumpkin spice latte!<\/p>\n

1. Make candy poppers with leftover Halloween candy<\/h2>\n

Younger, this was one of my favourite post-Halloween activities. What better way to use up leftover candy than to give it away gift-wrapped in empty toilet paper rolls<\/a>!<\/p>\n

All you need to do is take the rolls, stuff them with candy and then wrap them up with tissue paper, wrapping paper, or leaves decorated beforehand by the children. This is a great idea for the Holidays too!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an example to get you started on your candy poppers.<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Cooking as a family<\/h2>\n

I love to cook and I try to involve my children as much as possible. While my one-year-old son is the designated leftover eater, my daughter is becoming increasingly helpful for making recipes.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the best time of year, because it\u2019s harvest season\u2014time to make tons of homemade jam (apple<\/a> or pumpkin<\/a>) and to can produce. I let my daughter cut big pieces with her wood knife made especially for kids. Anyway, since it\u2019s for jam, the size of the pieces is not that important.<\/p>\n

3. Binge watch Harry Potter<\/h2>\n

You\u2019re going to say that you can binge watch Harry Potter at any time, to which I say, \u201cYes, I know!\u201d In any case, I advise you to prepare for this kind of weekend by renting a projector, stocking up on homemade Butterbeer (lots of recipes online\u2014often a mix of cream soda, caramel and butter. This one<\/a> and this one, for instance. There are even vegan recipes<\/a>!) and many other theme snacks. this one<\/p>\n

4. Get outdoors as much as you can<\/h2>\n

Since it\u2019s not as hot and you can still have a great time outdoors in the fall, give all your favourite activities a shot. Enjoy the fall colours and breathe in the fresh mountain air, go camping, or even check out the zoo<\/a>! It\u2019s vital to appreciate nature\u2019s beauty, with the added bonus that there are often fewer people around than in summer.<\/p>\n

5. Get ready for winter with DIY bath bombs<\/h2>\n

I love taking baths and my children do too. I often try to make special baths, but bath bombs get a little expensive in the long run. A way to get around this is to make them yourself. The recipes, like this one<\/a> and that one<\/a>, are so easy to make that you can even get the children to give you a hand. And while you\u2019re at it, why not prepare a few Christmas gifts at the same time and put them in the candy poppers? As you can see, you can put gifts in almost any container\u2014there are no hard and fast rules!<\/p>\n
