Tomato alphabet soup & grilled cheese<\/h2>\n

So easy to put together, this classic comfort food<\/strong> is always well received and adds to the cozy family atmosphere at the end of a long day.<\/div>\n

Soup<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  • 1 can diced tomatoes (796 ml)<\/li>\n
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped<\/li>\n
  • Olive oil<\/li>\n
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable stock<\/li>\n
  • 2 cans Campbell-style tomato soup (284 ml)<\/li>\n
  • 1\/2 cup alphabet pasta<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In a large pot, saut\u00e9 the onion in oil. Add the can of diced tomatoes, undrained. Stir well and add the stock and the cans of tomato soup. Bring to a boil. Add the pasta and continue cooking for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add pepper to taste.<\/div>\n

    Grilled cheese<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    It\u2019s easy: use your choice of sliced bread, one or more of your favourite cheeses, and a bit of butter. Whether you use a skillet or a panini press, make sure the cheese is melted and the bread nicely grilled!<\/div>\n

    Soup<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    • 2 cups chopped broccoli<\/li>\n
    • 1 medium potato, diced<\/li>\n
    • 1 small onion, chopped<\/li>\n
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped<\/li>\n
    • 1 cup water<\/li>\n
    • 2 cups chicken stock<\/li>\n
    • 1 teaspoon celery salt<\/li>\n
    • 1 tablespoon butter<\/li>\n
    • \u00bd cup table cream<\/li>\n
    • Salt and pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      In a pot, bring the water to a boil and add the potato and broccoli. Reduce the heat and simmer 10 minutes. In a skillet, melt the butter and saut\u00e9 the onion and garlic. Transfer the contents of the skillet to the pot and add the chicken stock. Pur\u00e9e the mixture using a hand-held blender or food processor. Return the soup to the pot, season to taste and add the celery salt. Bring to a boil. Turn off the element and add the cream. Serve it while it\u2019s hot!<\/div>\n
